Just to say how much I agree with not automatically bidding 2D over 2C (unless you’re playing an agreed relay system). If the auction starts 2C – 2D – 2H (unless this is agreed as having a specific meaning e.g. H or strong balanced demanding 2S relay) how on earth do you catch up with (say) KQ10xx xx Axx xxx compared to SJ10xxx xx Jxx 10xx?
Relay systems are all very well but, for the rest of us, surely bidding is an exchange of information not 1-way traffic!
