I blame North though as 3N will surely make unless South has opened a weak 2H with J10xxxx but possibly even then. Also, the bismd protects the AQ holdings.

4 Spades also makes without much trouble. Lose three Spades and that’s it.

Hi Everyone,
3NT is easy and maybe should bid here by North with his powerful, balanced hand. The long spades argue against an inconvenient spade lead to West (in a scenario where West has one of the spade honours) to lead back through one of the minor suit tenaces (although it wouldn’t matter here, nothing to be done). 4S does make, but I wouldn’t want to be the one left explaining what happened when West turns up with a spade honour in place of the 2S and leads a diamond through. Not that there seems to be any argument for getting there in the first place with a lovely nine-card fit.
