I would like to have watched North’s expressions as high card after high card (especially the spades) kept coming out of the E-W hands.

Hi Jim2,

Yes, and no doubt, South was and is a big bidder, who no doubt emphasizes his optimism often at the bridge table.

But to not ignore what might happen if South passes his first time, it could go 3 limit raise clubs by West, passed back to South, who then, if he did choose to compete, would (and possibly should) likely do so with three spades, missing the good 4 heart contract available.

Sure, North could intervene with a vulnerable 3 hearts, certainly a choice, but would he?

However, yes I think I know where the heart king (instead of a black king) would be located if your side got to 4 hearts NS.

Or does TOCM TM also kick in with your partner? My guess is YES, especially if it is the contract trick.

If it does not, then, at least, your bridge career might survive, as long as you never became declarer, joining many others whose partnership might show a profit from that restriction, even without the dreaded, above mentioned, disease.
