What happens if West doesn’t exit with HA and another (understandable but it misfired badly here)? A diamond or even a small heart might be better.

For that matter, if West does have a singleton club is it likely he has only one spade? East has a sure trump entry so a heart through at T2 might be better, although that needs West to play his second club (if held) rather than another heart. If West can’t play another club, then there is still only likely to be one ruff It really pays off if West has (say) HAQ9xxx.

This specific hand reminds me of the many moons ago era of prizefighting, where beefy opposition belted away and bloodthirsty patrons screamed and hollowed.
Both sides were subjected to competing for helping name trump, while holding only two, but even with this natural battle by both major suits in the forefront, spades, in its normal ending, pulled rank over hearts.
Rather than comment on the play, with its many choices, my memory goes back (1940s) to the pugilistic battle between Joe Louis the champion and Billy Conn the talented challenger where Conn was headed to winning the decision before he got a little too bold and allowed himself to be KOed in the (I believe) 13th round.
A good bridge lesson went with. When victory glows bright, step back and let it happen, rather than think oneself invincible.
Finally a question, Is it more likely for a bridge game to break out at a fistfight or a fistfight to break out at a bridge game?

The latter is far more likely but you knew that! Apparently there are ways of mixing chess and boxing legitimately, though.
