Hello Bobby
This hand is from a large on-line game. Wide range of ability but no experts.
Matchpoints, both VUL. East Deals
N Q98732 K5 Q7 Q106
E 6 Q7632 AJ10854 K
S KJ1054 A10 963 J42
W A J984 K2 A98753
The auctions were competitive
The top EW scores went to those who doubled when NS got too high in Spades.
The top NS scores went to those who did overbid to 4 or 5 Spades but escaped the penalty double.
The most frequent result was EW bidding / making four or five Hearts.
Could you comment on how the auction “should” go and where it “should” end up.
Thanks

Hi Clarksburg.

Sorry for the no excuse gaff:

My (no holds barred sample auction): East South West North
1 D 1S Dbl 4S
5H all pass
Making EW +650 a maximum score with this sequence but if instead NS venture 5S then
upon the lead if from longest suit, West leads 4th best from his longest suit they could score
up +800 vs. 5SX.(unlikely. but possible).
