Hi Bobby,

On Practical Shot’s hand, no use of Blackwood (of whatever type)? Could persuade the oppo you’ve got one less loser than you have (so a void spade and HKx or Ax say) when they will probably take the save.

On pre-empting partner’s query, the urge to kick him would need quite a lot of resistance but I have a horrible feeling he’d take 5C over 4D as a cue-bid. There again, bidding 5C over 3D might be taken as a cue-bid too. Any case for bidding 4C over 3D then 4S over 4D? Who discusses such sequences though?

Hi Iain,

No doubt you have entered questions to which I can only explain, but better still, cry out,
the partnership which wins the day (session) will be determined by whomever successfully first challenges, then beats (rather described, buffaloes), the other, likely psychologically
but still within the parameters of what is not only allowed but surely demanded when
fate is now totally in control.

IOW, “you pays your money, you takes your choice”.
